Description
This book is the same as the other Story of Ruth children’s book we stock, but has a new cover.
Ruth, a Moabitess, accepts the one God and joins her mother-in-law, Naomi when she returns to Judah. Both women are widows with no visible means of support, but through trusting God, Ruth finds food for them in the fields of Boaz, a relative of Naomi’s husband.
Boaz praises Ruth for her rare devotion to her mother-in-law and to God, which was known among the people of Bethlehem. He later marries Ruth and provides a home for her and Naomi. His words to Ruth are true for everyone who loves God, “The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.” (Ruth 2:12).
The account shows God’s direction and protection, as well as Ruth’s, Naomi’s, and Boaz’s, genuine care for one another’s welfare. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of writes: “Happiness is spiritual, born of Truth and Love. It is unselfish; therefore, it cannot exist alone but requires all mankind to share it.” (Science and health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 57.)
This updated appearance of a beloved childhood book, now fully colourised in a youthful format, is a wonderful resource for parents and teachers to guide children to a true appreciation of the Bible.
