The Christian Science Publishing Society is very pleased to present this complete collection of beautiful accompaniments for the Christian Science Hymnal, Hymns 1-429.

The primary purpose of this 18-CD recording is to provide accompaniment for congregational singing in church services and Sunday Schools. But it can also be used for singing hymns at home, for learning and memorizing hymns, and simply for listening. Professional musician, Peter B Allen, plays most hymns on piano, with string or wind instruments added to about 60 hymns. A few hymns are played on the synthesizer, or it is added to the piano. About 50 hymns (noted in the listing) have been transposed into lower keys to make them easier to sing. Each hymn is performed just as you would hear it in a Christian Science church service. First the hymn is introduced by playing it through one time, then all verses of the hymn are played, and finally there is a short coda, which finishes the hymn.
